How Do I Get the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Off a 1995 Honda Accord?

1.

Open the hood of the 1998 Honda Accord and connect the wrench to the tension pulley at the bottom of the engine on the left side. Turn the nut in the center of the pulley counterclockwise with the wrench to loosen the drive belt.

2.

Pull the drive belt off of the engine. Place the engine pulley remover tool over the crankshaft pulley. Make sure that the nut in the center of the pulley is in the socket in the center of the engine pulley remover tool. Turn the key on the rear side of the tool clockwise to tighten the socket onto the nut.

3.

Connect the power drill's tip to the rear of the socket on the engine pulley remover tool. Tighten the tip of the power drill according to the drill. Set the drill to reverse and pull the trigger. Once the crankshaft pulley comes loose, pull the engine pulley off of the engine.

Tips and Warnings

  • All of the engine pulleys on the 1998 Honda Accord are mounted on the left side of the engine so removing the crankshaft pulley will be a tight space for you to work in.
