2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE V6 Specs

The 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE is one of four Grand Am trim levels available in 2002. The other trims are the SE1, the GT and the GT1, which are more luxurious trims than the base SE. The SE comes in a two-door coupe version or a four-door sedan version and features driver and passenger airbags, manual air-conditioning and front-wheel drive with driveline.

Engine And Transmission

The SE has a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder-inline, sequential fuel-injection engine producing 140 horsepower and 145 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 revolutions per minute (rpm). The alternator is 105 amp and the battery is 550 amp with rundown protection. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive, but there was also an option of a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

Suspension And Brakes

The front suspension of the SE is a MacPherson strut with coil springs and front anti-roll bar. The rear suspension is a multilink type with coil springs and rear anti-roll bar. The suspension is adjusted for a touring ride.

The front brakes are vented discs with a diameter and thickness of 10.9 by 1.02 inches, and in the rear there are drum brakes of 7.9-inch diameter. All brakes have anti-lock braking system functionality. The steering is power rack-and-pinion and the car has a turning radius of 18.8 feet.
