How to Replace the Front Signal Lights in a Geo Tracker

1.

Switch the Tracker's headlights off. Turn the engine off and engage the emergency brake for added safety.

2.

Loosen the hood using the hood release latch beneath the instrument panel. Then, pull the auxiliary release latch beneath the center of the hood to lift it open.

3.

Find the turn signal bulb socket next to the back of the headlamp assembly. Turn the socket counterclockwise to remove it from its holder.

4.

Press the malfunctioning bulb into the socket and turn it counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. Then, press the new bulb into the socket and twist it into place.

5.

Test the new bulb to make sure it works before closing the hood.

Tips and Warnings

  • See the headlight assembly diagram in Section 6 of your Tracker Owner's Manual if you're unsure of which bulb to replace.
  • Handle the signal bulbs with care. They can easily pop, shatter or crack if dropped.
  • Don't handle the signal light socket without making sure your Tracker's engine is turned off.
  • If one of your front signal lights isn't working, drivers in front of you won't know when you're turning, exposing both them and yourself to serious danger. To avoid causing accidents, replace the signal light bulbs in your Geo Tracker as soon as they burn out.
