2008 Silverado: Front License Plate Bracket Instructions

Find the screws or connectors that are used to secure the dealer frame to the front of the vehicle.

Unscrew the screws or connectors from the frame, with the screwdriver, and then take them out.

Take off the dealer frame and set it aside. Insert the decorative plate or state plate into the new license plate bracket.

Insert a screw into the two holes on top of the bracket. Tighten, by hand, the nut onto the screw and then use the wrench. This will secure the license plate to the license plate bracket.

Set the license plate bracket on the front of the vehicle. Align the screw holes on the bracket with the screw holes on the front bumper.

Insert the screws into the bottom holes on the license plate bracket. Tighten the screws by hand and then continue tightening with the screwdriver.

Tips and Warnings

  • Some screws that are used to secure a license plate have a hex head, which will require a hex-head screwdriver.
  • A Chevrolet Silverado will have pre-drilled holes in the front of the vehicle to mount the license plate bracket.
  • The license plate bracket should not cover the license plate sticker on a state plate.
  • License plate brackets are used as a decorative element to display or to protect the license plate on your vehicle, such as a 2008 Silverado. If you have a decorative license plate or a state plate that is required on the front of the vehicle, you can attach it with a license plate bracket. Install a front license plate bracket to a 2008 Silverado by first removing the dealer frame from the vehicle.
