The SSR -- Super-Sport Roadster -- featured a convertible top with a very small truck bed, and from its introduction to its final year, the SSR was available in only one model. The 2006 SSR was the most recent and did not stray too far from the original design.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The 2006 Chevrolet SSR came with a 400 horsepower, 6.0-liter V8 engine. With a four-inch bore, 3.6-inch stroke and 10.9 compression ratio, the engine reached maximum horsepower at 5,700 rpm. The SSR featured a power convertible top, manual air conditioning, four speakers, remote keyless entry, power locks and power windows. Safety features included four-wheel anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger front and side-impact airbags and side-impact bars.
