CHOOSE BIKER APPAREL:
If you're buying for your lady, don't screw up sizes or she'll flatten your tires. Seriously, unless you're VERY sure of sizes, steer clear of items like leather bike jackets. Leather gloves, with or without fingers, are a great essential for the motorcycle mama. Chaps are also a major necessity and these often come in one size fits all and are easily adapted for all sizes. Be sure to get women's, NOT men's. Most Harley dealerships or leather shops will carry these. Boots are also a great choice. Look for those with a one and a half to two inch heel, cover the ankle, have double zip sides, and are leather. Harley Davidson and River Road make a great boot in lots of styles. Keep all sales slips in case item needs to be returned.
ADD A THROTTLE ROCKER TO THE LIST:
Throttle rockers are placed on the throttle bar to reduce hand and wrist fatigue from holding the throttle in position for periods of time. Indispensable to any motorcycle rider.
CONSIDER A WINDSHIELD to protect her lovely smile from bugs in her teeth as she rides with the wind. JC Whitney has some of the best values in windshields with the widest selection. They also frequently offer FREE shipping with 75.00 orders ! Remember that riding with a windshield takes getting used to as the wind gets diverted by the screen. Viewing through a shield is not optimal, but may help in driving rain. Use your best guess if you choose this item.
Every motorcycle enthusiast, biker babe or not, needs bags to hold their gear for the short rides or the long haul. Consider saddle or windshield bags. She's likely to go for dressed up options, considering what she has for a bike.
THINK EYE PROTECTION:
Consider buying her a pair of sunglasses. Look for those with interchangeable lens for different lighting conditions. Most motorcycle dealerships will have these in stock. Again, remember to save your receipt as sunglasses don't fit everyone the same way.
PURCHASE A FAVORITE AMONG MOTORCYCLE RIDERS:
Her favorite gift may well be the custom seat that you consider replacing her stock seat with. It's all about comfort to avoid dreaded monkey butt, and outright pain.
GIVE HER A MASSAGE:
Motorcycles are not nearly as comfy a ride as a car. On a long ride, your body becomes quite fatigued and inner thighs and butt may burn- a little, or a lot ! Consider a great gift to your lady of a massage gift certificate. When she gets those kinks worked out, she'll be ready to get back on her steel horse and ride ! (Don't let her take her motorcycle to her massage appointment though. Excessive relaxation and motorcycles don't mix !)
