How Do I Remove Points From a Florida Driver's License After 30 Days?

Visit the Florida Department of Motor Vehicle website. Review the "state approved traffic school courses." Read the details of each course. Select one of the five approved courses based on the type of ticket received.

Click "Sign Up for Internet Course Now" or choose a location to take the course. Pay for the course with a credit or debit card. Finish the course within the allotted time as outlined in the terms of the course. If you fail the test, you may retake it until you pass.

Keep the certificate mailed to you, proving you passed the course. The school will notify the court of the course completion to avoid points.

Tips and Warnings

  • You are allowed to attend a traffic school or driving school once every 12 months and five times overall as indicated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website. Florida law does not allow driving schools or traffic schools to remove points for any out-of-state tickets.
